Anonymous Poll

Cast your vote anonymously. Nobody, including the organiser, can see who voted for what. Results appear after you vote.

No account, no IP address, no cookie. Exactly like the live form.

1. Which option do you prefer?

A working demo: your answers stay in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere.

How the anonymous poll works

  1. Start from this template and replace the question and the options with your own - a date, a venue, a name, a choice of three ideas.
  2. Share the link in a chat, an email, a WhatsApp or Teams group, or print the QR code on a poster.
  3. People vote from any device. No account, no sign-in, no email - and no IP address is stored with the vote.
  4. After voting, each person sees the results so far: how many picked each option, as a percentage and a count.

Results appear once 5 votes are in. Before that, voters see "results appear after 5 answers", so the first few votes cannot be read off the chart. Written comments, if you add a text question, are never shown to voters - only to you.

Anonymous poll or secret ballot?

There are two kinds of anonymous vote, and they solve different problems.

Anonymous poll (this template) Secret ballot
Who can vote Anyone with the link Only the people on your voter list
One vote per person Not enforced Enforced: each voter's link works once
Results Shown to voters right after voting Opened when you close the vote
Best for Quick team decisions, event dates, class votes, group chats Board and committee elections, union and association votes
Plan Free Pro and Team

The open poll stores nothing that could tell a repeat voter apart - that is what keeps it anonymous - so someone determined could vote twice. When the result has to count, use the secret ballot: every voter gets a personal one-time link by email, and you see how many have voted but never who voted for what.

When to use an anonymous poll

  • Team decisions - which day for the offsite, which tool to try, which of three proposals to work on first
  • Meetings and workshops - a quick vote at the end, from a QR code on the last slide
  • Classes and student groups - a class representative, a trip destination, a topic for the next session
  • Clubs and communities - the next event, a logo, a rule change to discuss
  • Group chats - a vote people can answer honestly, without everyone seeing who picked what

Anonymity matters even in small votes: in a show of hands people follow the first few hands, or the boss. An anonymous vote shows what the group actually thinks.

What makes it anonymous

  • No sign-in and no account - voters open the link and pick.
  • No IP address stored with the vote, and no tracking cookie.
  • Results are totals only, and only from 5 votes, so no single person's pick shows.
  • Text answers stay private - voters see the totals of multiple-choice and rating questions, never anyone's words.

You can also add a rating question ("How useful was this meeting?") - voters then see the average and how many gave each number of stars.

Frequently asked

Is this anonymous poll really free?
Yes. Polls are part of the Free plan: 3 forms, unlimited votes, results shown to voters, no credit card.
Can people see the results?
Yes, right after they vote - the totals for each option, once at least 5 votes are in. You can switch this off in the form settings if you prefer to keep the results to yourself.
Can someone vote twice?
In the open poll, yes, if they try: nothing is stored that could tell a repeat voter apart, which is what keeps the poll anonymous. For one vote per person, use the secret ballot (Pro and Team), where each voter gets a personal link that works once.
Can the organiser see who voted for what?
No. Votes are stored without a name, an email, an IP address or an account. The organiser sees each vote and the totals, but not who cast it.
Do voters need an account or an app?
No. They open the link or scan the QR code and vote in the browser.
Can I use it for an official election?
For a board, committee, union or association election, use the secret ballot, which limits voting to your voter list and opens the results only when you close the vote. It is not meant for government or public elections.
